SEASONAL NANO LOT
Lightly roasted filter coffee with floral notes of lavender, lychee, poached orange, and brown sugar. Delicate, silky texture and a herbal-floral finish.
This coffee comes from Finca Tuki Tuki in Bolivia, which Edwin runs together with his wife Cynthia. Tuki Tuki comes from “Toucan.” At first, the young couple didn’t have a car and had to walk an hour to the finca every day. “I remember how motivated we already were back then,” Edwin says with a smile. “Sometimes it was hard. But every day we’d see a pair of toucans on the finca. The birds watched us work… and somehow became our good-luck charms.” Cynthia suggested naming the finca Tuki Tuki.
The couple has since cleared another area right outside their front door to dry coffee there. The original Finca Tuki Tuki still exists, but coffee plants are now growing right outside their front door as well. This is also where they have their “semillero”—a small nursery where Edwin grows coffee plants. He sells the seeds and seedlings throughout the region. And he’s made a name for himself: his plants are said to be resistant and to produce particularly good flavors.
Edwin was one of the first in the Caranavi region to grow Gesha. Gesha is the “diva” among Arabica varieties. It can produce a very delicate and distinctive flavor profile, but it isn’t very weather-resistant. That’s why we often only have small quantities of Gesha available—we work exclusively with fincas that use agroforestry systems.
Our Seasonal Roasts will be available for a maximum of 6 weeks before being replaced. Since these coffees are special and limited in quantity, however, a Seasonal Roast may sometimes sell out earlier.
