Tea
Coffee is a fruit - oh yes, and what we call coffee beans are the seeds of this fruit. Peeled out of the coffee cherry, washed, fermented and dried. Or, in the case of dry-processed coffee, removed from the dried husk only afterwards. The husk and pulp, which is a by-product of coffee processing, does not have to go to waste or be used as compost. It is dried and sorted just as carefully and lovingly as the coffee by the coffee producers in Bolivia. And offered here as cascara tea. The dried husk of the coffee cherries is also drunk in Bolivia. There it is called Sultana. Even though here in Germany the word "Cáscara" - which means husk in Spanish - is more common for this coffee cherry tea, we decided to call our product "Sultana". Because we work close to the origin and want to stay as authentic as possible with our Bolivian products.
